For my birthday, one of my best-est friends sent me a list of activities that I must carry out within the next couple of months. Some of these are things that the two of us used to do back in college, others are stuffs that I've never tried, and the rest are random and unusual tasks that take courage and inspiration, which are also things I don't normally do. I haven't had the time to complete the tasks and I've only accomplished two out of twenty-two. Here goes.

Before, we'd visit the department store, dress up, and take photos of ourselves wearing the dresses we never planned to buy. It's something that I really miss.

I'm glad that this was included in the list. My nails really need some love. And yes, pink is my favorite color.

It's the last day that I am twenty-one. I'm turning a year older tomorrow! *gasp* I can still remember celebrating my birthday the previous years like it was yesterday. Time flies so fast! To quote Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." 

Two years ago, I was just a student who used to stay up until 4AM to study Audit Theory, who had to learn advanced Finance for a prestigious competition, and who did her best to get good grades. A year ago, I still had to stay up late to review eight subjects for the board examination. I had nothing except my degree. Now, I have an eight-to-five job (that I need to write about in another post); I earn my money, I pay the bills, and I can finally buy the things that were only on my wishlist a year ago. What and where I am now is a whole lot different from what and where I was in the last few years. 

But as much as I enjoy the things that come with growing old and having a job, I also miss the years that I spent in school. I miss my nocturnal activities (late-night studying, being online), having something to look forward to (because really, there is almost nothing to be excited about when you have a career but I guess it all depends on what you do for a living), and even studying for topics I didn't enjoy. It's embarrassing to admit, but I'm getting rusty with my current job. 

Now that I'm getting older, I feel pressured--- in my career, love life (or lack thereof), in everything. At this age, I'm expected to have already laid out my plans. I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't know where I'm headed. When you're young and naive, you have big dreams and plans, but I threw them away when I realized that things won't always turn up the way I want them to be. And to be honest, I no longer know what I want. As it is, life didn't come with instructions and all I can do is hope that great things are in store for me in the future.

I asked for a graded pair, but I guess they didn't have available stock for the contact lenses that I chose. I didn't want an overwhelming shade on my eyes, so I picked GEO Super Size Angel Brown. Besides, I've always wanted to have brown eyes.

It's my first time to wear contact lenses. Needless to say, I was clueless and I didn't have the slightest idea of the proper way to apply them. I had to watch a couple of tutorial videos intended for beginners before I could get the hang of it. 

Still, I was hesitant to put the lenses on my eyes since I was afraid that they would cause eye irritation. I didn't trust my clumsy self and I had friends who had heard negative things about contact lenses, making me all the more anxious. I didn't ask my ophthalmologist's opinion and didn't have a contact lens solution nor an eye drop. The lenses keep sticking to my finger too! Several tries later, I finally managed to put them on. Huzzah!

The GEO Super Size Angel Brown is a really good shade that complements my natural eye color, which is black. I was impressed with the significant change in my appearance. However, the color isn't that noticeable without the camera flash. With the flash, the lenses look almost dark orange, which in my opinion, is a very lovely hue.

Lens Comfort

Contrary to the poor impression that formed in my mind, surprisingly wearing these lenses doesn't feel like I'm wearing them at all. The lenses are light and soft, and there is no change in my eyesight. In fact, I'm starting to entertain the idea of wearing another pair, preferably with prescription since I have myopia.

Lens Enlargement

The contact lenses have a diameter of 14.8mm and I really had a difficult time putting them on. I have Chinese blood and it follows that I also have small eyes. These lenses were perfect for me as they definitely made my eyes look remarkably bigger.

Overall, I liked the GEO Super Size Angel Brown lenses enough that I'm willing to buy a pair with prescription. I love the color which becomes more apparent under direct sunlight. I only had a problem at the beginning when I put them on. It's a strain to wear something that is bigger than your size. Haha. But maybe it will get easier. After all, this is my first time to wear one.

Overall Review

I will most certainly recommend Solution-Lens.com to anyone who wants to purchase contact lenses. I am immensely satisfied with the lenses I received. The customer service is great. The staff is quick to respond to my email inquiries. I didn't have a problem with the shipping. I received the package just within a month. One of the things I regret in my younger years is my inability to keep an active personal blog. I used to create accounts and blogs on various blogging sites, and tried to put content on a regular basis. It shames me to admit that the last time I updated one of my blogs was around two years ago. My Tumblr account doesn't count. I guess life just got in the way. Or perhaps I never found the inspiration to write again (not that I consider myself good at this thing). Or maybe, just maybe, nothing exciting was going on in my life all these years that I didn't feel like there was something to share.

I've always wanted to have a blog filled with my own ideas, dreams, and sentiments. And I really, really hope that I can finally fulfill it with this new blog. Since I have long forgotten about my journal (which is, again, another regret), I want to make this blog as my online diary. I am also hoping to improve my writing. Inspired by these goals, I promise myself to take this thing seriously (haha).

The years have passed me by and I'm disappointed that there were things and events, both important and trivial, that I didn't get to write about. I think it's time for me to find a place where I can express myself.
